GRÜNDUNGSBESCHLUSS DES PARKS ...

The Ministry of Environment and Protection of Natural Resources in cooperation with the Ministries of Heritage and Culture, Infrastructure and Transport and of Agriculture and Forestry and in consultation with the region of Campania has donated to the Underwater Archaeology Park Baia, like a marine reserve in 2002. Both the park and the underwater archaeological park Gaiola, which was founded under the same law, consist of a marine environment with bedeutendemhistorischen, archaeological, ecological and cultural value.

The underwater archaeological park Baiae covers an area of the coast of Pozzuoli Bacoli and between the southern Pier of the port of Baia (Omlin bridge) and the pier to the beach Augustus in Pozzuoli and to provide maximum protection, is in three divisions:
integral (A) - the true heart of the protected area, where all activities (except approved scientific research and services forbidden) are, to damage or to prevent any disruption of the marine environment;
General (B) - with minimal impact are few sustainable activities authorized under certain provisions, and
Parziell (C) - a buffer zone hohstempfindliche between the regions and the surrounded sea areas, where attention to sustainability and low environmental impact ist.


Management des Parks ist derzeit in der Verantwortung der Archäologischen Behörde von Neapel und Caserta. Die wichtigsten Ziele des unterwasser Archäologischen Park Baiae sind:
  • der Schutz und die Verbesserung der Umwelt und der archäologischen Stätten, auch zum Zwecke potenzieller Beschäftigungen;
  • die Verbreitung des Wissens über Meeresbiologie und des unterwasserarchäologischen Erbes;
  • die Durchführung von Ausbildungsprogrammen zur Verbesserung des ökoloigischen, marinebioloigischen und archäologischen Bewusstseins;
  • die Umsetzung von wissentschaftlichen Research programs to further enhance the knowledge of the area, and
  • the promotion of socio-economic development agreement with traditional local activities, local residents and the company currently active in the region.
